The Falcons have been decimated by defensive injuries, and now they're facing another efficient, potent offense. Wish I'd jumped on this earlier but I'll still back Cincy to hang tough and possibly win outright.
What has gotten into Cincinnati, which has blown past the total in every game? The one-time ground-it-out Bengals seem transformed. Still, that does not justify a dramatic hike from the high 40s for this matchup. Atlanta consistently draws totals well into the 50s but has stayed Under in eight of the last 10 games. It’s a stretch to envision Cincy maintaining its scoring pace with RB Joe Mixon (knee) iffy and C Billy Price (foot) out. Another concern is WR J.J. Green (groin), who will try to fight through the discomfort.
The Falcons are in serious trouble on defense with key injuries knocking players out of the year on a weekly basis, and the first two games of their three-game homestand finished with 55 and 80 points scored. Cincy also has a dangerous offense but issues on the defensive side of the ball, as all three of their games have gone Over too. Maybe that'll change when Vontaze Burfict returns, but that's not for another week. Both offenses spread the ball around to several dangerous weapons, and that should happen again in a high-scoring game here.
