The Bengals are extremely banged-up and facing a Vikings team eager to reassert its dominance following a tough loss at Carolina. Lay the big number.
It must be homecoming hysteria. After three consecutive away games, the Vikings are double-digit favorites for only the second time this season. This, even though the Vikings' injury report was a half-mile long this week, with 14 players listed - 11 of them injured last Sunday. On the offensive line, both tackles and the center are iffy. Cincy is not the picture of health, with three key players concussed. The Bengals have covered in six of the latest roadies. Now, for the best trend of the week: Coach Marvin Lewis can remain unbeaten in eight matchups against former assistants if Cincy takes care of Mike Zimmer's Vikes.
The Bengals were brutalized by injuries heading into last week, and it showed in a blowout home loss to a bad Bears team (482 yards allowed!). I doubt they'll have many injured players rushing back for this one with the team 5-8 and the season lost. The Vikings will do a better job defensively against the run facing this porous offensive line, and they'll be fully focused on making a run at the No. 1 seed coming off a loss. I typically don't like laying double digits, but combine injuries with team quality and effort expectations and this one's too good to pass up.
