The Rams are -4 in the SuperContest, and while I have hesitations backing Jared Goff as a favorite of more than three points until we know the Rams can move the ball, I think it's still the play. We know what the Colts offense looks like without Andrew Luck, and while they've made wholesale changes on defense, it's going to take some time for everyone to get on the same page. Even without Aaron Donald, Wade Phillips should have the Rams defense firing on all cylinders out of the gate.

The Rams, perhaps delusionally, have not ruled out holdout DT Aaron Donald, their premier defensive player, so neither am I. Even minus Donald, the L.A. tackers are Ram-tough, and Indy backup QB Scott Tolzien has a tall order in lieu of Andrew Luck (shoulder). His passer rating last season was a paltry 64.7, and his lone start resulted in a 28-7 defeat. The only way for L.A.’s dreadful offense to go from 2016 is up. QB Jared Goff was blessed with the acquisition of WR Sammy Watkins, and RB Todd Gurley should resemble his old running-wild rookie self than his running-in-place sophomore version.

It's looking more and more like Andrew Luck won't suit up for Week 1. The Colts' franchise will play it safe with his surgically-repaired shoulder. This line is going to move soon and I want the full field goal. The Rams' offense is looking competent under Sean McVay. With Sammy Watkins, Todd Gurley and Cooper Kupp, Jared Goff has the weapons he needs to make big strides and overcome a disastrous rookie year. Grab the points.
