One of the memorable MNF games this season was witnessing the Panthers botch a one-sided hom contest against the Buccaneers. With a chance to finish off a worn down Buccaneers team, backup Derek Anderson threw an awful red-zone pick. That game seemed to fuel the Buccaneers, as they rolled to an 8-5 record. Yet two consecutive losses have derailed their chances, even though they still have a tiny window of opportunity Sunday. Even with Cam Newton on the field, expect the Buccaneers to get the outlier plays again and defeat the Panthers. Grab Tampa.

In Week 5, the Buccaneers upset Carolina on the road as an underdog and the game sent the teams in opposing directions. On Sunday, Tampa Bay will still be alive for a playoff berth, while the disappointing Panthers are destined to spend the postseason at home after reaching the Super Bowl last year. But Tampa Bay’s recent five-game win streak will be the peak of its season, as it has shown a lack of poise in losses the past two weeks. An angry and disappointed Carolina club is the last team the Bucs want to see in Week 17.

Cam Newton is playing with a bad shoulder and he's completed fewer than 50 percent of his throws in five of the past six games. Tampa Bay still has faint playoff hopes, so I expect the Bucs to take care of business and cover. Remember, the Bucs already beat the Panthers in Carolina. The Panthers have not covered a division game this season.
