Last week, the Colts broke through with probably their most complete performance of the season in a 34-26 road win over the Titans. They failed to turn the ball over, held Tennessee to 331 total yards and even had some balance in their 422 yards of total offense. On Sunday, Indianapolis hosts a Chiefs team with extreme home-road splits, and whose only win away from Arrowhead came against the Raiders. The Colts have covered four of the last five in this matchup and I look for them to do so again Sunday.
Andrew Luck is going to have a big week against this KC secondary. Moncrief, Dorsett and Hilton are all healthy this week for the Colts, making Luck's job much easier in a comfortable environment at home. If the Colts can keep Spencer Ware from scoring three touchdowns they should win this game outright. Take the points with a team that shouldn't be getting a field goal at home.
The Colts have covered 10 straight as home dogs, and they're getting Donte Moncrief and Phillip Dorsett back Sunday. Though clearly the better team, K.C. has only eight sacks through six games, meaning Andrew Luck should have time to operate. The Chiefs will probably run for 150 yards, but I think the Colts can keep up offensively.
The Chiefs have been a quality team across the board and rank 12th in overall DVOA, while the Colts have struggled against quality teams and rank 27th. Kansas City will have no issue moving the ball against the Colts' terrible defense, and the Chiefs' pass coverage should be able to limit Andrew Luck, even if he gets some of his weapons back this week. Special teams has been a big strength for Indy, but against a good Chiefs team, I think it helps less on the scoreboard than it would in a better matchup.
