The Packers won't have Randall Cobb or Ty Montgomery, not to mention their top three corners. The Falcons are at home and steaming after two narrow losses. I don't think Green Bay solved its offensive woes vs. Chicago -- at least not to the point where the Pack will keep up with Atlanta.
The Packers are without a true running back and Randall Cobb this afternoon, but I'm still backing Aaron Rodgers and the Pack on the road. Losing Randall Cobb is certainly going to help Jordy Nelson get going and when Nelson and Rodgers on the same page they are the best QB-WR combo in the NFL not named Big Ben and Antonio Brown. Ty Montgomery, Davante Adams and Jordy Nelson will be more than enough for the Packers. The Falcons take a big hit with the loss of Tevin Coleman this week. Go Pack Go!
I realize the Packers don't look so hot right now and the Falcons, despite the home loss last week, look amazing, but are we ready to say these teams are equal? The most likely thing to occur from this point of the seeason is Green Bay rises and Atlanta goes back to its routinely disappointing self. I still have the Packers as a slight favorite on a neutral field. Take the field goal.
This is a matchup of two great offenses now that Aaron Rodgers got his groove back in the second half of last Thursday's game against the Bears. The Atlanta defense is mediocre and now has to go up against one of the best pass-blocking offensive lines in the league. The Packers are solid against the pass and elite against the run, and they'll be facing a Falcons running game with less bite if Tevin Coleman misses the game as expected. The Falcons have lost both their games as favorites this year, and I think that continues against the Packers.
