Might as well start bright and early with the “brunch” game. Giants WR Odell Beckham could have the Rams’ secondary, minus ailing Trumaine Johnson, for lunch. If Beckham is blanketed, QB Eli Manning has no shortage of options. Two L.A. defensive linemen are expected to return after rehabbing injuries, but DT Michael Brockton is a scratch. Rams RB Todd Gurley belongs in one of those missing-persons reports, and he is unlikely to be found against a defense permitting 3.5 yards per carry.
We may not be giving our friends in England a quality duo of NFL teams, again, but at least they're two iconic teams in the league's history. I'm going to avoid the side here. What I can count on is the Rams giving up lots of points. They've given up 30 or more in three of their last four against teams worse than the Giants. And surprisingly, Case Keenum has been decent at moving the ball and scoring. Look for a high-scoring game.
Both teams are 3-3 and extremely inconsistent. I see a lot of field goals being exchanged in London. But if I had to trust one QB to get hot, it would be Eli Manning.
The angle here is about the Rams' travel. They hosted the Bills, visited the Lions and now venture all the way to London. The Giants have an easier commute and will take this one.
