This is a battle of two of the league's top defensive units, as the Vikings have by far the best scoring defense in the league at 12.5 points per game. The Texans aren't too far behind at 18.3, and are No. 6 overall, allowing 288 yards per game. Houston also has the worst scoring offense at 17.3 ppg, while Minnesota checks in at 22 ppg. Points will be hard to come by here and, although the Under is a tough position against this light total, it's the correct play between these two rugged clubs.
The Vikings are clearly going to be a public team until they lose a game, and though I’m not sure they have the chops offensively to hang with top-level teams in a slugfest, I doubt that’s going to be a problem here. The Texans have struggled offensively, ranking last in DVOA in offense and bottom three in both running and passing. Houston has been at pass defense but struggles defending the run, so if Jerick McKinnon can build off a productive Monday night, the Vikings should be able to put the game out of reach in the second half.
