| Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks | ||||
| The Redskins appear to be on a roll. They've won four consecutive games and they have the look of one of those "charmed" teams. You know the kind that gets hot at the right time. The Redskins are doing it with good defense and a running game. Clinton Portis is playing his best football. Todd Collins is doing a great job of not turning the ball over at quarterback. Seattle has been inconsistent this season. Their loss at Carolina a few weeks back is a major red flag for me. The wind was an issue that day, but Carolina should not have shut them down like they did. Seattle has had trouble running the ball this season, and that's not a good thing against a Washington defense that averaged giving up 3.7 per rush. They will force Matt Hasselbeck to have a big day. The problem is I like the Redskins corners against the Seattle receivers. Washington stays on the roll. Result: Washington Redskins 14, Seattle Seahawks 35 | ||||
| Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers | ||||
| The Jaguars dominated the Steelers three weeks ago, a game that wasn't as close as the final score, but this is the playoffs. Winning at Heinz Field in the postseason won't be easy, but the Jaguars have the makeup to do it. They are a physical, tough team, which is a perfect match for the Steelers. Pittsburgh is hurting with three key players out. Running back Willie Parker, tackle Marvel Smith and defensive end Aaron Smith are three of their better players and none will be in the lineup. With Parker, Najeh Davenport takes over and he is more of a grinder. That will put pressure on Ben Roethlisberger to make plays in the passing game. He has to come up big here for the Steelers to win. I just don't see the Steelers stopping the Jacksonville offense. Look for points -- if it's not windy -- from both teams, but the Jaguars move on. Result: Jacksonville Jaguars 31, Pittsburgh Steelers 29 | ||||

| NY Giants Giants at Tampa Bay Buccaneers | ||||
| The Bucs are one of the surprise teams in the league, winning a division after finishing last in 2006. The Giants are in the playoffs for the third consecutive year, and this team might be the best equipped of those to move on. Tampa Bay has a stout defense again, finishing third in points allowed. They will be a test for Eli Manning and the Giants offense. Manning had a good game last week against the Patriots, showing he can get it done in a big game. That will continue here. On defense the Giants active front will get after Jeff Garcia and limit the Tampa Bay offense. If Earnest Graham can come up big, it will really help. But the New York front seven can be tough. The Giants are the better team, and it will show. Result: NY Giants Giants 24, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14 | ||||
| Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers | ||||
| The Titans essentially played a playoff game last week, which will make it tough here. How do you handle two road playoff games in a row? But if any coach will relish that role it's Jeff Fisher. He's a master at that type of thing. Look back to 1999 when he got his team into the Super Bowl. For the Titans to have a chance to win, they will have to get LenDale White and the running game going. If not, the Chargers will get after Vince Young. San Diego is in the same boat and will pound LaDainian Tomlinson. If he can't get it doing, it will be a tough day for Philip Rivers. They don't have a quality passing attack. The Titans will keep it close for a while, but the Chargers will make a defensive play late and find a way in the end to advance. Result: San Diego Chargers 17, Tennessee Titans 6 | ||||
