--1B Richie Sexson went 0 for 4 Friday night, dropping his overall batting average to .195. He hit .226 in April and has batted just .111 (3 for 27) in May.

--CF Ichiro Suzuki went 1 for 3 with a pair of walks, but his batting average is just .272. He has gone just 1 for 13 (.077) in his last three games.

--DH Jeff Clement, the first-round draft choice called up by the Mariners April 30, is hitting just .167 after going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts Friday. He has three hits in his first 31 at-bats after his callup.

--RHP Brandon Morrow recorded two outs in relief and lowered his earned run average to 1.93. He has given up just one earned runs in his last eight relief appearances.

--3B Adrian Beltre went 1 for 5 with a pair of strikeouts Friday and is hitting just .247 for the season. He has just four hits in his last 27 at-bats.

BY THE NUMBERS
27 -- The number of times CF Ichiro Suzuki has had a hitting streak of 10 or more games in his career. He comes into Monday with an 11-game streak, currently the longest in the AL.

The big signing of Russell Branyan starts the rebuilding of the new look M's.

MLB trade rumors is reporting that the Mariners may be the unidentified team interested in Rafael Furcal.  What are your thoughts?  Do you like this?  Is his improvement over Betancourt worth the money and health risks?  Do the Mariners need power more than an improvement at shortstop?  I'd prefer we go after a Pat ...(more)
