--RHP Livan Hernandez improved to 6-1, marking the pitcher's best start since he went 6-2 in his first nine starts of the 2005 season. Hernandez did not record his sixth win last season until July 24.
--DH Craig Monroe is batting .333 with two doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs in his last nine games. He has two home runs and six RBIs in his last two games.
--3B Mike Lamb finished off a great series against the Red Sox with five hits and four RBIs in 12 at-bats. He's batting .316 with seven RBIs in his last 12 games.
--2B Brendan Harris returned to the lineup after missing two games with a sore right hamstring. Harris suffered the injury early in Friday night's game and was removed from the game in the sixth inning.
--CF Carlos Gomez's 16th steal of the season Sunday was the 35th for team, second only to Tampa Bay's 36 entering Monday. Gomez is 16-for-18 and the team is 35-for-43 in stolen-base attempts.
BY THE NUMBERS 40 -- Through Saturday's game, Twins pitchers had surrendered an American League-high 40 home runs this season. Luckily for Minnesota, 33 of those 40 homers have been solo shots. Of the remaining seven, five have been for two runs, one was for three runs and one was a grand slam.
