Right-handed starting pitcher Roy Oswalt will find out Saturday if he'll land on the disabled list or start on schedule Tuesday because of a left hip strain.
Oswalt, who was ordered not to throw during the four-day All-Star break, will throw Saturday for the first time since he exited after one inning on July 1 against the Washington Nationals.
"The biggest thing is if I feel it a little bit (during the bullpen session), then that would make sense," Oswalt said of the possibility of landing on the 15-day disabled list for the first time this season.
Oswalt suffered the injury on July 1 in the final pitch of the sixth inning against the Dodgers. He skipped a turn in the rotation and returned on July 11, but he aggravated the injury that day while warming up in the bullpen and lasted only one inning.
"Last time, I had 10 days between starts and it's only been seven days ago (since July 11)," he said. "So if I start the fifth day back, it's only giving me 12 days. So you're giving me the same thing I had last time. So I don't know. I don't know if I need to push it back or what."
ASTROS 2, CUBS 1: Brian Moehler didn't figure in the decision, but he was a major reason for the victory Friday after giving up only one run through seven innings. Hunter Pence and Miguel Tejada, both of whom were 3-for-4, were also a major reason, especially because Pence drove in Tejada with a walk-off double.

The Astros are arguably the best 2nd half team in baseball this decade, does it continue? Well with good pitching, as the last 2 games have been, it will. If the pitching has some of the same 1st half inconsistencies, it could be a long season for us all. I say not however, with

so with the Astros 9 games out of a wild card spot...i like the latest lineup with matsui leading off. why not put wiggy in the 2 hole--that would give you 2 strong obp guys for the 3-6 hitters.
we've lived with 3 outs at the bottom of the lineup for a long time, let's stick towles and bourne in the 7 & 8 holes
Honestly, does Ed Wade really think Michael Bourn is the answer. Smart move bringing Val Majewski up to Triple A, where the outfielders are still not very good. Bring him up all the way Mr. Wade. He seems to be the only guy hitting in your minor league system

With a little recent short-term improvement, and the "no-hit wonder" Dodgers coming in for 4 games, I thought, "This is where we make our move!" No Furcal. Pierre gets hurt. No offense as illustrated by their 1-0 victory, despite being no-hit. I have reason for optimism....right?
Uncle Drayton needs to get a move on. I have heard so many things about other teams having academies in latin american countries and the Dominican Republic. Historically, they have said, the Astros have been non-existant in some of these countries and little to no presence in others. Some clubs have a good impact on th
