Cliff Lee continued his brilliant start Monday night, but he didn't get any help from the Indians' offense, which has been a recurring theme thus far for the Indians. In the second game of a doubleheader against Toronto, Lee pitched nine scoreless innings, but the Indians were shut out 3-0 in 10 innings.
Cleveland's struggling offense was held to just three hits in the 10 innings. At one point, Toronto pitchers retired 19 Indians hitters in a row.
That's a continuation of a familiar theme for the Indians this season. They lead the American League in earned run average by starting pitchers, but their record is only .500 because of an inability to consistently score runs.
The Indians split the doubleheader, winning the first game 3-0, but they only scored runs in two of the 18 innings of the two games. Manager Eric Wedge has tried everything, including radical lineup changes, occasional benchings and call-ups from Class AAA Buffalo.
However, nothing has worked, and Monday night the Indians' inability to score a run cost Lee a victory.
INDIANS 3, BLUE JAYS 0 (Game 1); INDIANS 0, BLUE JAYS 3 (10 innings, Game 2): Right-hander Fausto Carmona pitched a five-hit complete game shutout and second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera hit a two-run homer in the first game of a doubleheader. In the second game, Cliff Lee pitched nine scoreless innings, but the Indians were held scoreless on three hits. Righty Rafael Betancourt gave up three runs in the 10th inning to take the loss. Cabrera turned an unassisted triple play in the fifth inning, the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history.

Tribe is gonna add an infielder this winter....that much is certain. How good and at what position is still up in the air though. Figured I'd start a list of all possible acquisitions (free agent and/or trade) and classify them by how good they are or how they'll impact the team.
