After an excellent start Saturday, his best of the season, right-hander Bronson Arroyo will pitch Wednesday against the Marlins on three days of rest.
Arroyo, a finesse pitcher who is fluid and smooth, doesn't put a lot of strain on his arm and has expressed a preference for pitching on three days.
In three career starts on short rest, Arroyo is 1-0 with a 3.05 ERA (20 2/3 innings, seven earned runs).
And he has pitched a shutout on only three days of rest -- a 3-0 three-hitter against the Giants on Sept. 5, 2006. It was his fourth career complete game and first shutout.
On Aug. 5, 2006 against Atlanta, Arroyo was the victim of a blown save in an 8-6 victory.
Prior to the 2006 season, Arroyo made his only other start on short rest in the second game of a doubleheader on Aug. 1, 2000 against the Dodgers and received no decision in the 5-3 Pirates loss at Three Rivers Stadium.
REDS 8, MARLINS 7: Right-hander Aaron Harang spotted the Marlins three runs in the early going with three solo home runs, then the Reds chipped away to catch up and shortstop Jeff Keppinger broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh with a two-run homer. Second baseman Brandon Phillips then followed with a two-run homer in the four-run seventh, runs the Reds needed when the Marlins scored three in the eighth.

For all those Haters out there we NEED Adam Dunn! He is the only player in the Reds lineup who puts fear into opposing pitchers... He strikes out makes some errors but if the Reds have any sense they will sign him up long term! I seriously don't understand why Red
I am stationed in Korea and only get the opportunity to actually watch a few Reds games live. However, I follow them faithfully and keep track of the games by looking at the box scores and reading numerous blogs.....to get a feel on what people actually do get to see (that I don't).
Talk about the trade rumor of Donkey to Oakland for Street? Anyone else heard anything like this?
What would you all think about this trade? I personally wouldn't mind it as long as we went out and spent some money for a bat in the offseason. I'm not a big Dunn guy, I'm more old fashioned, I like batting average and doing the little things to get guys in.&n
