--OF Jay Gibbons might have his 15-day suspension cancelled. The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the commissioner's office and players union are working on changes to baseball's drug policies after the Mitchell Report. If changes are made, Gibbons might not be suspended for the start of the season. "I know absolutely nothing," Gibbons told the Sun about the situation.
--2B Brian Roberts again sat out Wednesday due to a stiff back that's been bothering him. Andy MacPhail, the team's president of baseball operations, told Roberts also that it's not likely he'll be traded by Opening Day, according to The Baltimore Sun.
--3B Melvin Mora had an RBI single in Wednesday's 8-2 loss. The starting third baseman has been one of the team's top hitters all spring and now has a .440 batting average.
--OF Jay Gibbons dropped a flyball Wednesday that led to the Cardinals scoring three runs in the seventh inning. The Orioles made several mistakes in the outfield in the game.
--RHP Jeremy Guthrie was up and down in his final start of spring training. He gave up four runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings. Guthrie, the Orioles' Opening Day starter, finished with a 5.00 ERA in five Grapefruit League starts.
