The finale of the weekend series between the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers was postponed by rain on Sunday. A makeup date wasn't immediately announced. MLB.com reports that Sunday's starter, Andy Pettitte, will now be pushed back to open a four-game series with the Rays Monday. Chien-Ming Wang, Monday's original starter, will go Tuesday and then Mike Mussina will pitch Wednesday. The Yankees are still deciding on pitching Darrell Rasner or Kei Igawa on Thursday. Whoever doesn't go Thursday will likely pitch Friday against the Mets.

Quadriceps - 15-day DL. Out until late May (Updated - 5/12/08)
    News
Alex Rodriguez's strained right quadriceps will keep him from playing this week, causing him to miss this weekend's series against the crosstown rival New York Mets. "It's still not where it needs to be. I don't see him playing this week," New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before Monday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. "You can't afford to have him come back for two days and lose him again for six weeks." Rodriguez, eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list on Thursday, had an MRI exam Monday, then worked out the Yankees' minor league complex in Tampa for an hour. He took batting practice, fielded ground balls and ran for about eight minutes in the outfield. "Taking it one day at a time," he said.
