Robinson Cano went 4-for-4 and drove in a run to back the pitching of Mike Mussina, helping the Yankees end the Tampa Bay Rays' six-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night. Mussina (6-3) allowed one run and five hits over 6 1/3 innings to win his fifth consecutive decision. He improved to 18-7 in 31 starts against Tampa Bay while walking one and striking out four. Cano's RBI single snapped a scoreless tie in the fourth and Bobby Abreu's pop fly down the left-field line dropped for a run-scoring double that made it 2-0 in the fifth. That was all the support Mussina would need to get his 109th win as a Yankee. (Updated 05/14/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Someone or something has lit a fire under Moose. He has allowed three or fewer runs in each start during his five-game winning streak and is back to being a viable Fantasy SP. It's a far cry from 2007 when it got to a point where it looked as though Mussina's career was going to come to an end. His next scheduled start is for Tuesday against the Orioles. He is on track to be a two-start pitcher Fantasy Week 8 (May 19-25) with his second start coming against the Mariners. Moose is 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA against Seattle this season. (Updated 05/14/2008).
Mussina gave up three runs and four hits in five innings of the Yankees' 6-3 win over Cleveland on Thursday, earning his 255th career victory. (Updated 05/09/2008)
