Lieber on DL; Hoffpauir called up : The Chicago Cubs placed Jon Lieber on the 15-day disabled list because of a right foot strain on Friday and recalled infielder Micah Hoffpauir from Triple-A Iowa. He was put on the disabled list retroactive to July 11. Last season, Lieber ruptured a tendon in his right foot and had season-ending surgery on July 6. He said the latest injury is unrelated to his previous foot problems and said he should be ready to pitch again in a week.
