Hernandez throws well, suffers loss: Twins SP Livan Hernandez's strong effort to end a six-game losing streak didn't come to fruition Saturday at Colorado, as he ended up suffering his second loss. He retired the first 15 batters he faced but ultimately allowed eight hits and three runs in 7 1/3 innings, neither walking nor striking out a batter.

Hernandez lowered his ERA to 3.88 and is looking like a serviceable enough starter for Fantasy purposes, but he still allows too many hits and doesn't strike out as many batters as he once did. Don't expect him to maintain this pace, but feel free to start him when he has the right matchups. His next start is scheduled for Thursday against the Rangers.
