Teagarden ready for Olympics: The Texas Rangers recalled pitcher Scott Feldman to start Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox and optioned catcher Taylor Teagarden to Triple-A Oklahoma. Teagarden hit a solo home run Sunday to break up Scott Baker's perfect game in a 1-0 win over the Minnesota Twins. Teagarden will now play with the Olympic team in Beijing. (Updated 07/21/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Teagarden was called up when the Rangers were left with only one catcher, because of injuries to Gerald Laird and Jarrod Saltalamacchia. With Saltalamacchia back in the starting lineup on Monday and Laird expected to begin a rehab stint Tuesday, the Rangers decided to send Teagarden down. "I just talked to (manager Ron) Washington and basically (Laird) is going to be back in three days so it wouldn't be worth me missing the Olympics by a three-day window because I'd probably be sent down anyways when he comes back," said Teagarden, who had to be in the minor leagues by Tuesday to be eligible for the Olympic team. Teagarden still remains more of a long-term Fantasy keeper. (Updated 07/21/2008).
