The Sports Xchange reports that A's C Kurt Suzuki was dropped from the leadoff spot Wednesday because of his 0-for-20 funk. He batted eighth Wednesday and went 0-for-3. He appears to be overworked, having started 37 of 41 games, most in the majors among catchers. Manager Bob Geren said before Wednesday's game he wouldn't rest Suzuki until Sunday in Atlanta. But after the latest woeful effort, Geren may change his mind and sit him Thursday in Cleveland. (Updated 05/15/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Suzuki was hitting a solid .283 before this slump, but now his average is down to .243. He is also hitting only .189 on the road this season. He could develop into a top-15 Fantasy catcher in his prime, which might still be a couple of years away, but for now is only worth using in AL-only and deeper mixed formats. (Updated 05/15/2008).
Suzuki was hitless in four at-bats in Oakland's 4-0 loss to the Indians on Tuesday. (Updated 05/14/2008)
Advice
Suzuki, the A's leadoff hitter, is 0-for-18 in his last four games after hitting safely in his previous five.
