The Sports Xchange reports that White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is still insisting that the club is fine for now, even with a dismal .208 batting average from the leadoff spot. According to Guillen, the time isn't right yet to bring on speedy Jerry Owens, who has been in Class AAA Charlotte after he won the leadoff job in spring training and was injured. "We talked about him, but we left the conversation right there," Guillen said of a recent meeting with Williams. "We talked about don't panic yet. I explained to him what's wrong with the hitting. The hitting is not the problem. Right now, we are OK. We have to wait for the right time to call him up." (Updated 05/08/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Owens' spot is currently being held by Alexei Ramirez, who can play both the infield and the outfield. Ramirez is only hitting .114, however, and his days as as starter could be numbered. While the White Sox will be debating what to do in this situation, Fantasy owners shouldn't be overly concerned with either of these guys outside of deeper AL-only formats. (Updated 05/08/2008).
