Myrow homers after recall: The San Diego Padres had a decidedly Triple-A look on Tuesday night. The Padres brought up three more players from Portland, giving them five in the starting lineup who played for the Beavers at some point this season. The Padres purchased the contract of outfielder Chip Ambres and recalled infielder Brian Myrow and left-handed pitcher Joe Thatcher from the Beavers. "It's not a shakeup or a change to make change," manager Bud Black said. "These are moves to help the team." The Padres outrighted outfielder Paul McAnulty and right-handed pitcher Carlos Guevara to Portland. They also placed right-hander Brett Tomko on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right elbow, retroactive to July 1. (Updated 07/09/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Myrow batted .324 with 10 homers and 53 RBI at Portland. He played 12 games with San Diego last season and hit a solo home run Tuesday against the Marlins. Myrow might get some starts off the bench for San Diego, but he will not steal a starting position away from All-Star Adrian Gonzalez. Myrow is a low-end NL-only Fantasy reserve.
