Murton optioned back to minors: Infielder Eric Patterson was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday immediately inserted into the Oakland Athletics' lineup against the Texas Rangers. To make room for Patterson, the A's optioned outfielder Matt Murton to Sacramento. "For me it's a matter of going down there and taking my at-bats ... and doing the things that have made me successful," Murton said.
