Fantasy Analysis
Santana hadn't allowed an earned run in his previous two starts and was coming off a complete game shutout of the Royals. Well, it was rough from the get-go Sunday as Santana allowed three runs on four hits in the first six batters. He clawed his way back into the game, but the bullpen couldn't close the deal. Santana, who has re-emerged as a must-start Fantasy SP, will look for his seventh win Saturday against the Dodgers at home. Santana is 2-0 with a 1.31 ERA in three home starts this season. (Updated 05/11/2008).
Santana improved to 6-0 after he allowed four hits, no walks and struck out nine in a masterful 4-0 victory Monday night over Kansas City. (Updated 05/06/2008)
Advice
Santana, who has a 2.02 ERA in seven starts, turned in his first complete game since the night he got his first major league victory in 2005. The right-hander - just 7-14 in 2007 - joined teammate Joe Saunders at 6-0, becoming the third and fourth Angels pitchers to open a season 6-0 or better. Since 1920, Saunders and Santana are just the eighth pair of teammates to start 6-0.
