Correia survives 12 hits vs. Nats: Giants SP Kevin Correia allowed 12 hits and four runs (three earned) in 5 2/3 innings during a no decision Wednesday against the Nationals. The right-hander kept Washington off the board until they scored a lone unearned run in the fifth. He carried a 3-1 lead into the sixth before Washington scored three times, including two runs on a homer from Jesus Flores, to take the lead. Correia was off the hook for the loss as San Francisco rallied for a 6-4 win. He didn't issue a walk and struck out three.

It could have been a lot worse Wednesday, but luckily for Correia, he was facing one of the worst offensive teams in baseball. Correia continues to be a high-risk starter for the Giants and has limited Fantasy value in NL-only leagues. His next scheduled start is for Monday against the Dodgers. He is on track to be a two-start pitcher Fantasy Week 18 (July 28-Aug. 3) with his second start coming against the Padres.
