Parra helps himself in win: SP Manny Parra had an RBI single en route to winning his eighth straight decision and the Brewers completed a season sweep of the San Francisco Giants with a 7-4 victory Sunday. Parra (9-2), the Brewers' minor league pitcher of the year in 2007, struck out a career-high nine batters and pitched 7 2/3 innings for his longest career outing. The left-hander received a mound visit from pitching coach Mike Maddux after allowing back-to-back singles to start the eighth and was done two outs later following Aaron Rowand's two-run double. He allowed seven hits and two runs while walking two. (Updated 07/20/2008).

Fantasy Analysis
Parra hasn't lost since May 3, a span of 14 starts, but was coming off three straight no-decisions. "With what CC (Sabathia) does and Ben (Sheets), it just kind of ups the ante and makes you kind of want to taste the same thing that they are," Parra said. "That's a goal now, just to keep going deeper and deeper into games." Parra has lived up to the hype that followed him in the minors and is a steady Fantasy SP. His next scheduled start is for Friday against the Astros. He is 2-1 with a 6.46 ERA in three starts against Houston this season. (Updated 07/20/2008).
