Marlins 1B Mike Jacobs (quadriceps) did not return to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Reds. He did appear as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning, but struck out swinging with two runners on base. Jacobs, who also appeared as a pinch hitter the previous two games, has missed the last seven games and is questionable for Thursday's series finale. (Updated 05/14/2008).
Injury Report
Quadriceps - Available to pinch hit. Questionable for May 16-18 series vs. Kansas City (Updated - 5/16/08)
Fantasy Analysis
It appears as though Jacobs is almost ready to start again, but the Marlins continue to take a cautious approach as losing him for several weeks could be devastating to the lineup. Jacobs has shown great power this season, but is more of a low-end Fantasy 1B at this time. (Updated 05/14/2008).
Jacobs missed his third straight game Saturday with a strained left quad. (Updated 05/11/2008)
Advice
