According to The Sports Xchange, Fernando Rodney threw a six-minute bullpen session Thursdaythat the Tigers called his best of the spring. The session was Rodney's first since a visit with Dr. James Andrews on April 16 determined there was nothing major wrong with his arm. Rodney told the Tigers it was his best bullpen session since his right shoulder began to bother him early in spring training. "He felt comfortable with his delivery, and he was finishing his pitches," trainer Kevin Rand said. "He threw with greater intensity." Rodney will throw Saturday or Sunday, depending on how he feels. (Updated 05/02/2008).
Injury Report
Shoulder - 15-day DL. Out until at least mid-May (Updated - 4/20/08)
Fantasy Analysis
The Tigers have no timetable on his return after repeated setbacks over the past two months. The good thing is that he won't require surgery and is expected back sooner rather than later. The setup man is worth owning in deeper AL-only leagues when healthy. He could become a very good source for holds in leagues that reward that category. (Updated 05/02/2008).
