Pena kept shoulder injury from team: According to The Sports Xchange notes: LF Wily Mo Pena said he has been playing through left shoulder pain for two years, concealing an injury from the team much of this season. Pena, who had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff earlier this season and will miss the rest of the year, said GM Jim Bowden asked him several times if he was hurt during the year. "He'd always ask me, and I told him, 'No, no, I'm good, I'm good.' They know something was happening. They said, 'You're hurt,'" Pena said. "And I was like, 'No.' I keep everything (to) myself, just trying to play, trying to do something for the team." (Updated 07/30/2008).
Injury Report
Shoulder - 15-day DL. Out for the season (Updated - 7/18/08)
Fantasy Analysis
Well, Pena has a scapegoat for his back-to-back awful seasons now. He has pop in his bat, which didn't really show this season amid his shoulder woes. His 30-homer potential could return next season, but we think he will be a low-end option in the deepest of leagues next spring. He is not worth owning in any Fantasy league right now. (Updated 07/30/2008).
