Blevins and Ziegler to see saves?: Athletics manager Bob Geren said before Saturday's game at Boston that he would be going to a closer-by-committee approach. "The way (Jerry) Blevins is throwing and (Brad) Ziegler is throwing, I could potentially use anybody in any situation right now," Geren said. "I don't want to say that (Huston Street is no longer the closer). It might be more how well the other two guys are doing." Over his last 14 outings, Street is 1-3 with three blown saves and a 5.51 ERA.

Fantasy Analysis

This news doesn't sound the least bit good for Street's Fantasy owners. When teams take a closer-by-committee approach, nothing good comes out of it in Fantasy. Street still figures to get more saves than Blevins or Ziegler, but he might not get them consistently enough to have much mixed-league appeal. Blevins and Ziegler deserve fliers now in AL-only Rotisserie leagues for their potential to contribute a few saves before season's end.
