Reds activate Burton from DL: The Reds activated right-hander Jared Burton from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday and recalled RHP Ramon A. Ramirez from Class A Sarasota. Burton had been on the DL since July 19 with strained muscle in his right side, an injury he sustained July 6 in Washington. The relief pitcher was 4-1 with a 2.23 ERA in 43 games before the injury. He was activated after two scoreless rehab appearances with Triple-A Louisville. Ramirez was recalled from Louisville on Saturday and got a no-decision after throwing seven innings in his major league debut during Cincinnati's 7-6 win over San Francisco. He was optioned to Sarasota on Sunday.
