The CBSSports.com Player Rankings are updated daily. The rankings are a total player-rating system based on various offensive and defensive statistics. Players increase their scores with every contribution they make to the game -- batting, slugging, baserunning and defense. Pitchers are separated into starters and relievers.
Keep in mind batters are penalized for games missed and pitchers need to meet innings pitched criteria to make the list.

I'm a huge Twins fan but Morneau better the Pujols? Why is Justin Duchscherer the Oakland Athletics a starting pitcher under the relievers and only ranked 45th at that? It just doesn't make sense!

There are so many ridiculous rankings in this that CBS should pull it off the site or fire the guy in charge of it. First you have teams like the A's and Rangers with decent records near the bottom of the team ranking and then I see Justin Duchsherer around #55 and Chad Billingsley at #98...both among relief pitchers.
Screw CBS. I'm going back to ESPN for my content
