It's going to take a great game from Jose Berrios for the Twins to win this game with Chris Sale starting on the other side. But all I've seen out of Jose Berrios in his eight starts has been the stuff of a winner. The Twins have won seven of his starts including his last four where he allowed only two runs in each. All eight of his starts have stayed Under. I expect Sale to be on his game again, but Berrios will keep it close. Under is the top play here.
As mentioned in my Minnesota/Boston under write up. Berrios has been 60 cents better than the average pitcher and Sale has been 70 cents better. Now we do need to break that down for home and away. Berrios on the road has been 40 cents better than average and Sale at home has been 80 cents better than average. After calculating the hitters, bullpen and defense the same way I made Sale -160, giving us 30 cents value on Berrios and the Twins.
Jose Berrios has electric stuff with a 92-95 mph fastball and a big breaking curveball. He will throw in a change-up every now and then to keep lefties honest. Chris Sale is the 2nd best lefty in baseball. Berrios is 60 cents better than the average pitcher and Sale is 70 cents better.
Lopsided prices aren't typically offered when two pitchers with strong records face each other. Yet that's the case here as Chris Sale (9-3) takes on Jose Berrios (7-1) on Monday. The Red Sox are coming off consecutive losses to the Angels as cracks within their starting pitching have formed. Yet, Sale is as reliable as they get and will lead the Red Sox to victory on Monday.
