The Brewers do an excellent job against lefties, as their .829 OPS vs. southpaws ranks second in the league. Arizona lefty Robbie Ray is coming off an excellent start in San Diego, but entered that primo matchup with a 4.57 ERA that balloons to 6.33 when you just take into account his five previous starts before the San Diego game. Milwaukee starter Zach Davies has struggled this year but has been better lately, giving up two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five outings.
No time for a writeup, but I'm on the D-Backs.
Arizona has won eight of its last nine, including the just-completed sweep of the White Sox. Everything has come together at once to keep the Diamondbacks in the NL West race, especially the improved bullpen. The Brewers are still in first despite losing their last three. Arizona has been drastically different away from Chase Field, but Miller Park is almost identical to Chase and it should feel like home. I like the Diamondbacks to continue their run Thursday.
