The Royals have the worst OPS against lefties in the majors, and Twins southpaw Hector Santiago takes the mound tonight. The Twins won Santiago's season debut against the Royals 9-1 back in early April. The Royals are just 5-12 on the road this year. While I'd probably take Nate Karns over Hector Santiago in a vacuum, the Royals' futility against lefties and on the road wins out. Go with the Twins at home tonight.
Nathan Karns got off to a shaky start in Kansas City, but he has won his last two decisions and yielded two or fewer runs in each of past three starts. He also has double-figure strikeouts in consecutive outings. Twins starter Hector Santiago allowed six earned runs and three homers in previous outing while failing to make it out of the third inning. Kansas City is winless in five games so far this season against Minnesota, but I'm looking for that streak to end Friday.
Hector Santiago is coming off a terrible outing, but I like him to bounce back at home versus the Royals. The Twins have outscored the Royals 34-14 so far this season. Friday night, Minnesota is winning 61 percent of my simulations.
