The Reds appear to be in a value spot Monday against the home-standing Angels behind Dan Straily (10-6, 3.57 ERA), who has won four straight starts. They have won eight consecutive game started by Straily, and the righty has given up two or fewer earned runs in each of those outings. Straily will be opposed by Angels starter Matt Shoemaker (8-13, 3.98 ERA), who overcame a disastrous start to his season to become one of their more reliable starters. He has won two straight starts while giving up just two earned runs, but consistency remains an issue as he has yielded five or more earned runs in three of his past 10 starts. I think current for dictates the Red are the value side with the plus-money payback.
