So, bascially all Reds fans that are paying attention know that Reds brass is just waiting for Griffey to hit #600 so we can trade him away to Seattle for, well, whatever we can get. We all also know that Griff nuts is struggling right now and #600 seems like more of a wish than a inevitability.
So here's my plan. We start a letter writing campaign/fund contacting all the upcoming pitchers that Jr. might face, asking them to facilitate meat pitchage so that we might all move on. Yes, you are thinking, what pitcher with any kind of balls would serve up a homer run pitch to become a statistic in a record book? Well, one that gets paid next to nothing and could use the extra cash.
Looking ahead, I see one pitcher this week with a small salary that might be willing to turn his head and cough it up.....
Gotta circle pitchers who don't figure to be around long, so they can become an instrumental trivia question.
I guess as time goes on, it makes little or no difference to me if he ever hits 600. It will probably be in a game that's 12-2 anyhow. I'd settle for a couple of RBI singles from the guy right now.
Right now my other objective is to admire the incredible fill-in lady who's delivering the mail this week. Wow! Go Postal!
Well, I still think that hitting 600 with the Reds means nothing if he does it on the road. Therefore, I think he could get traded before this event if he's still 3 away and they got on a long road stretch. So, if he is going to do it he needs to start hitting those long balls soon.
how about we write to Griffey urging him to quit? Or to demand to be traded? Or we blackmail Busty, Patterdouche, and "the walking disabled list" (Griffey), by creating photos of them all in an orgy with each other? Just a suggestion. Anything to get rid of those three would help.
Ha, I suppose that would be a solution but I'd rather get some sort of trade for them if we could. Though, Dusty quitting would be fine. He doesn't seem to be making any sort of a difference besides making sure we make stupid mistakes like batting out of order.
Whatever else we say about this group, the truth is in the record.
Worst in the NL-C, which was supposed to be competitive this year.
Only the Padres are worse, and nobody is quite sure why they suck so bad.
Crap, this team has a terrible record against their own division. If the Reds can't beat the division, that means ... what?
Dusty in, Dusty out.
This move has to be made so this team can do something resembling decency.
Beating up on a minor-league pitching staff (winning 8-7!) is not exactly my idea of getting better.
Griffey is clearly injured. I can see that from 300 miles away!
Put him on the DL and make it official.
the padres suck so bad because their hitting is way worse than even ours. i feel sorry for those fans too. it looks like the team is starting to turn around to me, at least i hope so. we're not the worst team in baseball, and we're starting to play like we're not, finally.
