Nice original Top 25. Though, I disagree with a few spots. If you're going by schedule for 08 and not purely a power team, Missouri has as good shot as any team. So does Ohio State, even if they lose to USC. If OSU can get by Illinois, they'll be right there.
Ones I don't agree with and who I'd replace with:
Clemson: Bowden is not a good coach. I suspect they'll have another ho-homer 8 win season. I'd put Texas Tech in their spot and delete them from the Top 25.
Arizona State: Unless their O-line can improve they'll be just an 7 or 8 win team. I'd put them at 20-25. I'm a Pac-10 homer and I'm not that impressed with them. Oregon and USC's d-line combined for almost 20 sacks in those games. And we saw what Texas did to them.
Alabama: Too tough of a conference. Saban is good, but he doesn't have the talent Urban had his second season. I'd kick them out of the Top 25 completely or right at 25.
USF: From what I saw Oregon to them...I was not impressed at all. This was an Oregon team who was playing with their 4th string QB. I can't justify them in the Top 25. But, I'll admit I only watched them in the Oregon game. So, it could of just been a bad game for them? I'd move Virginia up and replace USF with Colorado.
One thing I know from being a Pac-10 homer...watch Cal shock everyone. When expectations are low...this team exceeds. If Jahvid Best plays...he's gonna be ridiculously good. They have some great players.
I like the Trojans being out of the #1 spot. That's when they do good. Trojans will win the title, IMHO. How else could I see it?
