Happy Mothers day to all the Padres fans that are Mothers or Grandmothers

Whatta great day. Padres produced in every facet of the game.

Chris young 6 strong innings and a great hold by Cla Meredith, Heath Bell and Bryan Corey. Against one of the better hitting teams in the Rockies.

Offense came to play too. My favorite Padre Scott Hairston had a nice HR, Adrian Gonzolez with a nice double RBI. Khalil Greene with his first HR at Petco this year. Jody Gerut gets his first MLB hit.

New catcher Luke Carlin (no relation to George) throws out a base steal attempt.

Just really SWEET

Diamondbacks are 3-7 in their last 10 so they are looking normal.

Dodgers are on their way to another loss (hopefully)

Pads took their first "series" since mid April and 2 games in a row for the first time in (I can't remember)

GO FRIARS

Great game all the way around, absolutely. I what I liked most was the all around game just like you said. The Pads have turned up the aggression on the bath paths the last couple of games. Stealing, hit and run, first to third.

Hopefully, our bullpen acquisitions will be hidden gems found by KT again. Cla's looked strong the last two outings. Carlin looks like he's got a cannon. Hadn't it been like 50 consecutive successful attempts agains CY??

Keep playing well Pads, I want to see some wins up here in Seattle next weekend.

Boltnut, your threw me off there a little with your title but still a great thread. I'm absolutely overwhelmed with Luke Carlin right now. I think he was a fantastic addition by KT, working with Maddux to get his 350th win, keeping base runners from stealing, and getting his first big league hit. It's gonna take some getting used to not seeing Josh Bard throwing his helmet off all the time in vain...NOT!

I also think Byran Corey looked good in his first outing. He looked very strong facing those three batters in the ninth and forcing the double play ball to end the game. Are we going to use him strictley in the bullpen or is he a possible addition in the rotation until Prior comes to throw?

This Cubies series is going to be a big factor in how our May is going to end up. They swept the Snakes and are looking pretty strong right now. I hope we really show up, especially after that last season brawl with Derek Lee. I'd like to see us bring the pain that they brought on Chris Young's season (he never really came back after that suspension, remember how he lost the All-Star game in his first appearance after the suspension?) I'd like to see Wolf get his first win as a Padre and also for us to use that batters ballpark to our advantage. This is make or break Pads, lets do this!

octaveoff

Didn't mean to throw anyone off, just a joke from the old days.

Even I know they won't play like that every day, but it was so refreshing to see a complete team effort for a change. Alot more like I was expecting the season to go.

I was very impressed with Luke Carlin. Are the Padres going to make him their everyday catcher. It would seem like a good idea to me. (He's wearing jersey No 1) I like that.

I was impressed with the throw out at third the other day by Jody Gerut too.

Just our Pads luck to get the Cubs when they're hot off a sweep of the Diamondbacks.

GO PADRES
