Could Jared Lorenzen be the Bears future QB? -

	The Giants have 5 QBs on their roster right now including Eli Manning, David Carr, Anthony Wright, Jared Lorenzen and rookie Andre Woodson. Lorenzen was their 2nd string QB last year but with the signing of 2 vets and drafting a rookie the Bears could trade a 5rd pick or maybe Ricky Manning Jr for him. Lorenzen has a stronger arm than any QB on the Bears roster including Rex Grossman and is more accurate than Rex. At 6'4" and 285lbs he is actually very athletic if you can believe that. I live in Kentucky so I watched him and Woodson play through college and I think the Round Mound of Touchdowns will be a better starting QB at the pro level. Lorenzen can actual pick up yards with his legs and he is hard to bring down since he is bigger than most DEs and LBs in the NFL and he has a cannon for an arm. If he worked on his weight and conditioning and dropped about 20lbs he has all the tools to be a starter in the NFL.

	I'm not sure it's really necessary for the Bears to trade for him. The Giants aren't going to keep 5 QBs and if he hasn't been motivated to trim down below 285 as the second string with the Giants, it's highly unlikely he'll do so as 3rd string for the Bears for the Bears. He'll more than likely be a numbers casualty and the Bears can sign him once he gets cut.

	Living in the NY market, I've seen Jared Lorenzen play a little and the guy is fun to watch if he breaks from the pocket, he makes the DBs look real small...I wouldn't mind seeing him on the roster, see if he wants to convert to FB! Go Bears

	No, Jared Lorenzen will not be on the Bears. The Bears think they have at least 1 starter with both Kyle Orton and Rex Grossman. They will not make a trade to get another back-up, young QB. Next year is loaded with a ton of QB talent, so I expect the Bears to look into next year's draft to find their QB of the future. -CSF
