The Hornets are making a spectacular run through the playoffs, and hopefully, they can go up 3-1 tonight. But regardless of where they finish this season, (NBA Champs, fingers crossed) they have a weak link that needs to be addressed. Tyson Chandler, David West, CP3, and Peja are all, in my opinion, good enough to make this team a championship caliber squad. What keeps me up at night is the dismal play of Morris Peterson and Bonzi Wells. Both are seasoned vets, but a team like the Hornets needs one more serious threat, especially contending in the Western Conference, where teams that made early exits from the playoffs (ie: Denver, Pheonix, Dallas) will undoubtedly go out during the offseason and sign or trade for a high quality star. Should the Hornets look to upgrade at their one 'weak' spot or will CP and the gang be good enough to overshadow this weakness?

I agree with you they don't need a guy there to put up 20 points a game but someone who can shut down the opposing SG but also be able to average 15 points.  The draft might be the best place to address this.

Yeah fellas we talked about this in the 1st round of the playoffs and I know we def need  an eilite SG. Shade you hit it on the nose. In the west we have to get someone that is capable of dropping 20 a night like a Mickael Pietrus. I know he is a SF and he is not a big name but he fits the Hornets type of player. Besides looking at FA coming up this year he is the only name that I can see us signing for that spot. If you want to take a look at the FA list click here http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3714.

Now the other option is get a player through the draft. The 3 players that im looking at are Chris Douglas Roberts from Memphis, Brandon Rush from Kansas, and O.J. Mayo from USC (inlight of all the stuff being said he may fall to the Hornets late in the draft). I think any of these players can take that position to the next level for the Hornets. And once we get that they we can trully be new power house in the West.

Every team would love a role player who could score 15 and shut down the opposing Sg. Unfortnuately, they're hard to come by.

And just when you go calling Morris's play dismal, he puts up four 3-pointers last night. Don't be so quick to assume that this bench isn't good. No one on it will win any sixth-man awards, but last night Peterson had a good game, as well Pargo (though I don't think his play is in doubt) Bonzi wasn't in much and when he was it was so-so, but I wouldn't call his play dismal. Idk, jmo.

Mo Pete is a great role player. He and Peja are both good sharp shooters and Tyson Chandler is a great defensive player and rebounder. The greatest weakness on this team is Peja defense. Lets face it, his D sucks.

The irony of a guy with a Reds avatar speaking of teams with missing links is deafening.. I agree somewhat but as an expat Cincy kid ,the irony is as thick as the chocolate icing on the 5th b day cake  I got to ice myself
