I have read many post draft reports and while most of them are pleasing to the Panthers, some still have us falling harder than Star Jones walking on a high beam made of eggs! So many nay sayers out there who think that we are one true disaster away from giving the Eagles a top ten pick next year!
Here is what I thought to be an intelligent and respectable site for football knowledge: http://walterfootball.com/analysis.php
Just read what this guy has to say and tell me if I am over reacting more than a bearded man carrying a Koran and adjusting his shoes at the airport! First he questions our picks( many of us have), and then he compares getting Stewart to Rice? Then say's that IF Delhomme recovers we might make the playoffs..and that is a big if? This guy even goes as far to say that if Delhomme goes down the Eagles will have a top ten pick next year? Delhomme went down on week 3 last year and we still didn't have a top ten pick this year? Do people just drink too much and watch porn during the offseason?

,,,and that's not all he had to say about us.
Under the Saints' review/outlook, he included this: " With Carolina declining and Atlanta rebuilding, the only obstacle in New Orleans' way is Tampa Bay."
"declining"???
While Walter is certainly entitled to his opinions, I would beg to differ, as would probably all of us. But as I've said many times, it makes me happy to see us disregarded. It can only result in positive motivation to our players.
It strikes me that -- just like all of us diehard fans -- the players can't wait to get the season going. So what do they do with their spare time in the meantime? They read reviews of their team. Don't tell me they don't. When they get picked to win the Super Bowl (or even their division), a team gets all puffed up and full of themselves. Result: crash to reality when they find they can't just show up and have the win conceded to them. The converse: a team that gets no respect (but has adequate talent) gets their back up and makes a statement. I think this can be true of a single game (read Super Bowl last year), or a season.
It's all good.

All good points bigdavis! I like the declining statement also. I truley hope you are right about the team reading this and getting fired up! That is what sparked the 2003 team, and since the fire has gone away..this year the Eagles will get the 31st or the 32nd pick!

Carolina's success obviously depends on Delhomme's health. Remember, the Panthers started 4-2 with him last year.
We started 2-1 with Delhomme..That killed his Panther knowledge to me

What is it with people claiming our starts are always injured? That one post sayst Smith is in decline because of numerous injuries and now this site says Jake is always on the IR? That's it, i'm starting my own site so I can make idiotic statements like this.
I do agree that the Saints have a good chance to win but saying that only Tampa Bay will be a challenge is ludicrous! Not to mention that Tampa has more QB issues than anyone, I mean, what do they have, 6 QBs currently on the team??? 7 if you include Plummer, which they own the playing rights for.
Of course there is one thing I like about all of these sites, they generally show little regard for our chances to go all the way, which is usually when we have played our best under Fox, so while I wont necessary predict a super bowl win, I will definitely say we will make the playoffs, it will happen.

Your right. All these sites give the Panthers crap but if it's with another team they give them a free ride. Like the site giving Andre Johnson a free ride and hit smith as injury prone and declining.
Here's the next statement these sites will have:
The Dolphins will win the AFC and the Patriots will win 2 games this year.

You know, that would be funny if they did say that about the Pats, but would be better is if it really happened! lol

You know, CubsFan, I thought the same thing about the "always on IR" statement. To my knowledge, he's only been seriously hurt twice. Other than Peyton Manning and Brett Favre, the aren't too many quarterback's that don't get injured. Plus, the main thing we got going for us this year as opposed to last year is no David Carr. If he wasn't a Panther last year, we might have broke .500. Another thing to look forward is the fact that Carolina performs better when we don't have to live up to expectations. I'm not so niave to think that's the recipe for a trip to the Superbowl. However, even eight games into the 2003 season (when we lost to Tony Banks and the Texans), I didn't really think we would come d@mn close to winning the Superbowl. It just goes to show that with a little momentum, great things can happen in the NFL.
And to H3LL with the so-called experts. If they are so good at assessing talent then why aren't they making big bucks as a GM, instead of voicing opinions on some web sight. I could create a web sight and show everybody just how opinionated I am, but that doesn't make me an expert.

I put no stock what so ever in what is written on Waler football. The guy is a total joke. Did you happen to see his mock draft..And the ratings/ranking that he had on free agents. Give me a break...we all can do better at guessing than him.
The idoit even puts an Emmitt Smith mock draft on his site and it had us drafting Chris Leak like in the 4th round...GIVE ME A BREAK.
Things are starting to shape up for a really successful year...some of the rookies will play and add value but I also think that overall Marty did a pretty good job in free agency and the team we put on the field this year will be much improved over last year.
Go Panthers!
