I heard it and read it all week , BE said it on a Radio Show. First I don't think the kid from South Carolina will get the #1 Jersey with all the backlash the Wolverine nation will throw done on anyone who is not a star wearing that number but also remember Tyrone ButterField wore that jersey and number as well. So will see it's sometimes is for the top reciever ie Braylon, Alexander,CArter and sometimes a scrub.I really don't care who wears what jersey number on MIchigan just as long as they come to play and win as a team and not play for themselves and maybe Rich Rod is doing what my coach did and not make one player bigger then the team or number.

JT Floyd wore #1 in high school and was told the number was available during recruiting. the numbers will be assigned in August. until then, nothings written in stone.

besides, Braylon ponied up a nice piece of change to keep the #1 tradition alive for future WRs. they're not going to cause any more turmoil by giving it to a 3 star defensive back. trust me.

my prediction is RR, Braylon and Floyd have a talk and JT picks another number.

Welcome to the RR show.  When it comes to a power struggle between alumni and the coach, RR will not back down.  It will be a new look for Michigan football.  I would be surprised if the #1 jersey goes to a star receiver or is reserved for anyone other than a prized recruit.  You will see many of your traditions replaced in the coming year (years?)  Has he started the "Snap the Ball"  theme for more exciting football (or quicker 3 and outs) yet?

I hope he wasn't told his number 1 would be available when he got to Michigan as a recruiting ploy. I also find it difficult to believe RR would do this knowing the tradition of the number in Michigan football.  But......who knows for sure.
