The Jazz-Lakers series has been a joke.
You know what RTS? Your whining about the disparity in fouls called is a joke! I can literally set my watch to the time it takes for one of you losers to start a thread on the subjet coming off a Laker win. It's amazing - do you have any idea how silly and foolish you sound? The Jazz led the league in fouls commited per game (24). Their whole game is predicated on playing their opponents physically - what, are the refs supposed to just forget about that? The refs call fouls when fouls are committed - that's part of what they're supposed to be doing out there, moron!
I'm sure the discrepancy will be narrowed a bit then the scene shifts to Utah. But still, stop your freakin' whining, biatch! I'm pretty sure that if Jerry Sloan ever caught wind of your whining and excuse making, he'd have you running laps for the next three hours.

43-16. Yep, only the Jazz were fouling in the lane. Great ignorance buddy.
As for Sloan, he pleads his case in game. The calls were so ridiculous, he got a tech in the first quarter. Sloan could play the media like ole Phil, but he's got more class. I, on the other hand, I'm tired of seeing the same crap. Is it that hard to call the game the same for both sides? I don't think so...

Saban, there is a reason why Utah leads the league in fouls per game, they are a physical team. They foul. Last night committing 30, and were actually on par with their season average of 24 until they had to start intentionally fouling at the end of the game. The Lakers on the other hand, were right on with their season average committing 20 fouls last night.
The discrepancy in foul shooting has more to do with the difference in style of play, rather than bias in officiating. The Lakers attacked all game, using their superior quickness and ball movement to continuoulsy beat Utah defenders, usually leaving Utah in a position where all they could do was foul. And being the physical, lead league foulers that they are, that's exactly what they'll do.
And Utah didn't get aggressive offensively until the fourth, which is why half of their free throws non-coincedentally came in that quarter. Settling for contested jumpers for three quarters isn't going to earn you many trips to the foul line.

Seeing this stat doesn't automatically put the blame on the refs. The Jazz are a perimeter shooting team. Williams and your other guards don't go to the hole like Kobe.
Your team gives hard fouls and Kobe took advantage of your weakness, you are blaming the refs.
You got schooled by the MVP; it's basketball 101 Roll Tide. Quit crying like a baby, you look ignorant in your questioning of the refs.

If all you guys were talking about Game 1 in this thread, you'd all be right. The Jazz didn't take it to the hole in Game 1 because they settled for and missed outside shots. Did I post a thread after Game 1? No I didn't. Game 2 was different. If you didn't notice a change in the Utah game plan, then you are not being objective. The Jazz attacked the basket a ton in Game 2, they were fouled, and they were not allowed to go to the line. It's a fact. It's not whining, it's not bitching - watch the damn game again if you have to.
The Jazz went to the hole just as much as the Lakers, if not more - especially in the 2nd half. Think about how many outside buckets the Lakers hit (Fisher had 20 points all from the outside, Walton and Vuyacic a handful and Kobe a bunch. You all keep bringing up the Jazz and how much they foul. That big difference in fouls is only an average of 4 more fouls than the Lakers a game - big freaking deal. Yeah the Jazz play more physical than everyone else, but they don't play so physical as to give up 43 points from the line without being whistled for bogus calls by biased refs. And no Lakers fan can say that your team is so finesse as to only send a team to the line 16 times.
If you guys were playing the Spurs and they got their usual treatment against the Lakers, you all would be singing the same song I am.
By the way, the "who farted" comment was damn funny...

I believe everyone on here is speaking about game 2. Like I said, if it weren't for the intentional fouling at the end, the differences in team fouls would've been 4, just like the season average.
If you didn't notice a change in the Utah game plan, then you are not being objective.
Same gameplan, same outcome. As unobjective as you think it may be, anyone outside of Utah will tell you the same thing.
And why do you think the Lakers hit so many outside shots last night? Because they got the ball inside first. Just because the Lakers were successful from the outside doesn't mean they weren't attacking. Attacking the hoop collapses the defense, thus leaving perimeter shooters wide open. By attacking the hoop, they are creating easy looks, which is why their FG% is so high and their knocking down the open perimeter shots.

There is a little bit of substance to this argument.
The Sports talk radio and TV shows are now running with this topic.
Lakers have attempted a mind-boggling 89 free throws in just 2 games.
In perspective:
The Spurs & Hornets attempted 79 free throws together in 2 games for both teams.
The Pistons & Magic attempted 89 free throws in their first 2 games for both teams.
The Jazz have attempted 43 free throws....(minus 46 attempts)
..............
IT IS WHAT IT IS LAKER FANS. EMBRACE IT. STOP TRYING TO QUALIFY IT.
The Lakers don't have to answer to anyone after all.
Any time the Spurs get the officiating in their favor, I am ecstatic and could care less how bitter the losing team gets.
I would just savor the friendly whistles all the way to a title if I was a Laker fan.
