That lost to Pitt and USF ? You're taking it as if those were bad things.

Anytime a team has a shot @ their first undisputed National Title game in the history of the program and all they have to do is beat a 4-7 PITT squad that was absolutely horrible.............well.............thats a bad thing. Its not a good thing. Trust me.

The only reason they lost to Pitt was because their star quarterback was hurt almost the entire game.

I've heard this same excuse the last 2 years. PITT also outcoached WVU. Whats gonna happen when "the star QB" is gone? Will there be another one coming? If so why isn't he there ready to step up during a injury? In that type of offense backups get plenty of reps in practice.

 Last two years ?

It hasn't even been a year since they blew their national title spot. I'll give you that Pitt did outcoach WVU and I'll agree that Pitt was getting these calls against them that they shouldn't have gotten that helped WVU chances but take away a heisman player and that's a huge blow to your team. The backups only going to do so much with limited experience and I'm sure he doens't have nearly the talent.

Percy, you hit the nail aquarely on the head. WVU lost to Pitt because Wanny finally found someone he could outcoach. Just a few long passes down the sideline in the first quarter to back off the Pitt defense and WVU wins that game handily. I have wondered ever since if RR was already shopping around. Brown is a capable back up, he has got the job done for the most part when asked. White was a non factor in that game, the only score we had was when Brown was in. Pitt knew what play was being called before our team did, hard headed repetative play calling cost WVU a "title"

Percy, you are exactly right, and that is why you have not heard me voice those same excuses.  The loss was inexcusable.  We were tight, out-coached and out hustled.  And, if you have read my posts, you have seen that I keep reminding people that RR never won a bowl game at WV without Pat White and Slaton.  I too am concerned about the future of WV football after Pat is gone.  We have all seen how life has been at other schools after they lose a star like that.
