Hey just a curious buckeye fan here wanting to know more about the teams around the big ten. I am hoping for the big ten to re-establish itself as a true power. While I dont buy the crap that the big ten is weak I do know ive seen better days of football for our conference. I have read things saying that PSU, illinois, wisky, and MSU are bringing back pretty good teams and I know OSU is as well, as for michigan i def think they can crack the top 25 depending on how well RR builds the team this summer the talent is still there.. Just hoping for a little input from you all.

We're really a wild-card this year..... a young, fast QB could spell disaster for big-ten defenses, and we're bringing back a big-ten style defense, so while many people are expecting a West Virginia type of offense, it'll more than likely begin as an Illinois style.. a little more balanced. We lost a LOT of weapons, there's no doubt about that, so we'll see what happens, but I look forward to seeing how Rich Rodriguez handles the talent we had, and the new talent he brought in.

i believe the conference will do alright this year, even Minnesota (any more wins than one is an improvement). OSU will most likely win the Big 10 this year(although don't overlook the Wisconsin game in Madison or the Illini game in Illinois). Purdue and MSU will only get better. PSU, to me, seems as much a wild-card as Michigan right now. there has been many talk about "eroding value" and players leaving UM but it seems like everyday i hear about another Penn State player getting arrested or being kicked off the team. people have been ragging on the Big 10 for the last few seasons now. i don't get it. Michigan, Penn State, Purdue, MSU, Iowa, Northwestern, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota have won just as many National Championships as Alabama, Auburn, Miss State, Ole' Miss, Arkansas, Vandy, Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee this decade--0. but i think the hate is actually good for all Big 10 teams. nothing like the naysayers to get your football mojo back.
i've seen more hate than usual going into this season from non-UM fans. you've got nearly every WVU fan in existence breaking their necks to tell us that RR is not a nice man. you've got SEC fans telling us that the Cap One Bowl victory and players drafted to the NFL were meaningless. you even have Charlie Weis saying "to hell with Michigan" at the Blue and Gold game(although Weis should realize that Michigan is only part of the Irish's problem. his focus should be on the 3,999,999 other things that went wrong last year). that seems like the perfect "us against the world" motivational ploy. i keep hearing people predict 6-plus losses this season. i don't expect Um to come out opening day firing on all cylinders but six losses is a bit much for a team returning 8 starters on defense and boasts back-to-back-to-back-to-back top 20 recruiting classes. not to mention a so-called "soft conference" schedule(non-Big 10 fans' words, not mine).

I think alot of people are just hopeless, I'm a really devout wolverine fan so I cringe even saying this but I think if anything worst we'll have a 9-3 year worst. Our schedule makes 9-3 feasable. I really think that this team will come out and shock alot of people, I dont think we'll come out throwing I think they'll come out running alot. I just see Big Ten teams having alot of trouble with defending that.
The offense probably wont be flashy and get style points at first but they will do enough to win the game. A defense returning most of its starters except for what 3 guys thats pretty darn good credit is not being given there, and therefore this team is underrated going into this season. It will be up to them to say hey lets show these naysayers we're the real deal.
I think special teams will be big this year on our team, I think there should be alot of electrifying returns on punts and kickoffs.

hey, i'd be happy with any kind of return game improvement. it seemed like UM started every drive on the 15 yard line.

One of the young QBs' has to step up big. If that happens a top 20 or better could be in the works.

There are thousands of predictions - only positive ones for UofM are coming from Wolverine fans. It seems that expecting some growing pains would be natural when the switch that takes place is as monumental as it was. As a long-time UofM fan, I am glad to see the era of Lloyd be over.
My humble prediction for 2008...I would guess that it will be a revolving story of domination and adjustment. There will be times that UofM will dominate and RR's offense will be working. There will be times that RR's offense will not be working and adjustment will be necessary. I would predict that UofM will likely lose whenever adjustment is necessary - the offense will be unsteady and confused in those games. RR was not very good at making changes at WVU, whenever things were not "clicking" on offense. I expect similar things at UofM. However, WVU is not UofM. (sorry if I offend Mountaineer fans). The caliber of recruiting at UofM is typically a little better than at WVU. I hope RR realizes this and allows for some "plan B" strategies.
UofM's biggest enemy for the first half of the season is likely to be themselves. Every opponent will be watching App. State game tapes. By mid-season, other teams will know more what to expect. I think that Jim Tressel was wise to consult with South Florida on their defensive scheme. My best prediction for 2008 is that UofM goes 7-5. But we'll see.

Michigan, illinois, and Ohio St will be the ones fighting to win the conferance, Wisconsin will have a great year I can see them going back to SEC country and beating someone in a Bowl game as for the rest MSU is on the rise I like there new coach, the Big Ten is coming back this year.

The best I can say about 2008 is:
a) 8 starters back on D
b) Lots of freshman will get PT experience
c) 195 days until Nov 22.

Being in the big ten all we have to do is win more then we lose to keep the string alive.
I agree the last 3 years the Big ten has ben the Ohio State Michigan game. Which hurt when OSU got slapped around in the title game. Yes that makes us all looks bad.

Michigan should most likely be an 7-8 win team this year. Anything more than that would be a great season. The Bucks will win the conference as much as it hurts me to say that. (I'm going to go wash my own mouth out with soap)
Let's be reasonable, as soon as Newsome (possibly Fortier) enrole at Michigan next year and Prior takes over the primary signal calling at OSU, the BIG TWO will rule the conference for years to come. I predict 2-3 years from now Michigan is in the mix for a NC.
