	Pckank............. Lots of posters picking the Ole Ball Coach. None Florida fans. Theres a reason for that. If a man inherites a fortune or Empire and keeps it going and takes care of it I can respect that. If a man Builds a fortune or Empire from scratch by his own methods and ideas and kept it going for 12 years thats a whole different ball game. Spurrier and Foley don't get along. Two big egos don't mix well. Spurrier is the Golden Boy. He's ours. Foley's done great but he's not a Gator. He's waiting for the SEC Comm job. (Breaking news, you heard it here first). 6 SEC Titles 2 National Title games 1 National Title All from the ground up. No foundation laid............no history.............nada.........all from scratch. He made history right before your very eyes. You just don't know it yet.

	6 SEC Titles 2 National Title games 1 National Title All from the ground up. No foundation laid............no history.............nada.........all from scratch. He made history right before your very eyes. You just don't know it yet. percy, How many times do you want me to say it? He was solid in the 90s. His numerous SEC titles and national title speak for themselves. I was always very impressed with Spurrier and Florida in the 90s. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the thread is talking about right now. Otherwise, we would be rating him against Donnan, Holtz, DiNardo, Bowden,etc. I still respect him. I just don't think he has the same passion now and, looking at some other replies on this thread, I am not alone in putting him in the lower half of the SEC coaching rankings right now.

	I still respect him. I just don't think he has the same passion now and, looking at some other replies on this thread, I am not alone in putting him in the lower half of the SEC coaching rankings right now. I agree with PC here...I just don't see the fire on the sidelines he used to bring couple that with marginal recruiting classes and you have a has been coach... BUT....if he was back in Florida insulated by the talent pool and Coaches it could be a different story...kind of likethe way Carroll is setup at USC...

	Ranking in success: 1. Spurrier 2. Saban 3. Richt 4. Miles 5. Meyer 6. Tuberville 7. Fulmer 8. Nutt 9. Croom 10. Brooks 11. Johnson Miles and Meyer both have a NC, but Miles has more wins in 3 years and plus another division title.

	Here is the thing: If you win a National Championship in CFB then you are, by definition, an outstanding coach... so my rankings would be broken into two groups: those who have won a BCS Title and those who have not... Spurrier - built his empire, left while it was still on top Saban - ditto Miles - inheirited his empire, no season with fewer than 10 wins Meyer - inheirited his empire, been very good but has not had the success of Miles Fulmer - built his empire, but watched it fall as well Tubberville - built his empire and should have played for a BCS Title Richt - built his empire, may get his shot this season Croom - what an outstanding job he has done at State! Nutt - some very good wins, some unexplainable losses Brooks - ditto Johnson - winning is everything, has an impossible job at Vandy Petrino - "show me" because I doubt that success at Louisville translates to success at Arkansas

	If you guys think that Patrino has success at Louisville, just wait a year or two. Arkansas has more drawing power, more money, better facilities and a school & state that is behind him 100%. We have already proved that with 42 National Titles in Track. Just give him a year or so with great recruiting and I think everyone will be shocked to see what he does. GO HOGS!
