you are hitting part of it. management is the answer. we have a manager who has a raging lust for Corey Patterson who is just terrible. The coaching doesn't seem to have a clue either. hey, speaking of...CP just struck out for the second time in as many innings when three other lefties just crushed this has-been.
The problem with the management right now is that they are waiting for something positive to happen with Patterson. That seems to have been there solution all along. Lucky for them it looks like Votto, Volquez and Keppinger are pulling this season along with them but you can't rely on that 100%. You have to make moves that improve the team and Patterson is someone who is hurting us. I mean, come on, today was a hit fest and Patterson didn't get his one hit until the end of the game when the Cubs were starting to give up. He's an empty uniform.
As for Griffey, I think he's in a funk right now because he's in his own head. Bonds did the same thing before he hit his big one. It's just something that happens when you have a big number coming up. I think once he finally hits 600 he will at least look like half of an all-star... I still think he should be traded eventually but he's no where near as bad as Patterson.
