If the Chicago SunTimes shrank to a new low, well what about the White Sox Franchise?
I am so tired of fans making excuses for athletes and their poor behaivoral choices. The White Sox and the management potentially had a million dollar lawsuit on the hands and did nothing but sit on their hands. The fans who support this behaivor are a joke. The same fans want an athletes head when they do something wrong, see Tank Johnson and Cedric Benson but accept this stunt. Sadly enough, they took a prop idea from Major League the movie, and pushed the envelope into a dangerous lawsuit situation for their employers. No harm, no Foul is the reaction, but common sense say it is not right. The Players and the team should be fined big time by MLB baseball because it is a black eye and as a professionals they should know better. The players or whoever put it up, did in a public viewing area risking sexual harrassment laws big time. If they need a target to hit, they could have done it without a blowup doll. Hell, they could have probably purchased an inflatable player of their archival enemy the Cubs instead. But the White Sox sank to a new low. Atheletes should be role models and be held accountable like everybody in life. Because they are in public their actions speak louder than the average Joe. How does every Father or parent in that clubhouse feel now that their spouse and children know what goes on? The White Sox are very lucky that all that has happened was being on the froint page of the Newspaper as Sexual Harrassment Suits have won multi-million dollar suits.
As for the White Sox blowup to a baseball fans reaction, it is not OK. It just shows what the White Sox immature and offensive. As for women, they should be offended. Big Time! For the White Sox team and its fans on why they feel like they are second to the Cubs. Well it is because of their stupidity! Violence and women are no part of the game, what would be next, putting a blowup doll on the field for target practice?
But, the diehard White Sox fan I am sure says no harn, no foul. Well sorry, but Ozzie and company got caught with their pants down and the Suntimes is only reporting the story.
As a Cubs fan, I could say a lot of negatives about the White Sox, but I don't have to because the players do enough damage. Ex-Cub Sammy Sosa is proof of that.
We as fans of Baseball, must stop giving players a free pass
Maybe if they were treated like the average person, nobody would need to make excuses for them and the Boys would be treated like Men. As for Ozzie and his rants... well kids do watch and he should remember baseball is suppose to be PG rated. There is no need for profanity as kids look to him as a role model. Try explaining to your kid why he says it. And for Lee Elia and his slurred speech, try explaining what you said to a child. It's not funny anymore.
